The engine drives the supercharger in a mechanical way, which is called supercharging. When the engine is supercharged, the supercharger is usually driven by the engine crankshaft through the gear. Supercharger is generally used centrifugal or roots compressor, the individual USES screw compressor. In recent years, a new type of turbocharger has been used abroad. Because driving the compressor consumes a certain amount of engine output power, the thermal efficiency of a supercharged engine is not necessarily improved and is sometimes lower than that of a non-supercharged internal combustion engine. When selecting the pressurization pressure, it is necessary to ensure that the required average effective pressure can be achieved, and secondly, to obtain the lowest fuel consumption rate possible. These two requirements are often in conflict with each other for supercharging. If the average effective pressure is pursued, the mechanical efficiency will be reduced and the fuel consumption rate will be increased. Therefore, the choice of the pressurized pressure value should seek the best compromise between the power and the fuel consumption rate. Supercharging systems are now more common in European cars. Since the supercharger is driven continuously by the crankshaft, it is like the turbo lag of the turbocharger. Supercharging increases power output by only about 10% or 20%, but smooth continuity is not what a turbocharged engine can achieve.
